SENDING      PREPARING AN IMAGE        COST OF ARTWORKS / FIXING

 

In order for a quick turn around of your photos to Boarded Canvas Prints, please take a note of the following.

 

Please send all Digital images as a FILE attached to an e.mail detailing your requierments, size and any Art Work you wish to have done.  Send to canvas@uk-build.co.uk

 

Old Photos / traditional paper images, if you can scan these yourself, you should check the quality before saving to your own computer, these can then be sent as digital images.

 

It is very important that you send as a FILE attachment and not a PHOTO attachment.

 

Other services are available to send images however I cannot guarentee that they will reach me in good order,  Attaching as a PHOTO or by any other method will reduce the size and resolution of the image.

Attaching as a FILE will keep the size and Resolution needed to create a Quality Print. 

I do have Enlargement Software but this should only be considered if your digital image is low resolution to begin with, Old photos and traditional paper scanned images can benefit from this process, but nothing holds the same quality and clarity of a large / high resolution image.

 

Preparing an Image for sending / Taking the perfect shot

 

To reduce your costs and save time please check the following before sending your photos, to be used for Boarede Canvas Prints.

 

A medium to high resolution image with lots of open space around the main subject will give the best results for your prints.  (pic 1 in gallery)

 

If the Subject of the image is or was to close to the camera, it will look even worse when boarded as we lose an inch (25mm) from each side, top and bottom of the picture when boarded from wrapping the canvas around the sides and pinning to the back of the board. (pic 2 in gallery)

 

Small Boarded Canvas Prints are hit hardest by this as the smaller the print the smaller the available space around the subject.

 

Work can be done to create a border or stretch the back-ground to centralise the image and give enough space to wrap around the sides, however this can take time and will cost more money.

 

The Quality of the image you send is very important, whilst Quick Fix (£5.00) will adjust minor shade and colour issues, and remove photo spots and  minor blemishes, some things are just not able to change.

 

Too Dark, Light, Blurred, Out of Focus, Too close to camera, etc Nothing can be done to fix these situations, REMEMBER as a general rule of thumb, the picture you see in front of you is the same picture you will get on your Boarded Canvas Print.

 

On the up-side, if your picture is perfect in front of you then that is what you will get on your Boarded Canvas Print too.

 

If your picture does need work or altering in any way then these are the costs.

 

 

Image fixing or manipulation is charged for time spent constructivley re-creating or applying "Art Work" to your photo's.

 

A rough price guide, as follows; with average time taken

 

Colour to Black & White  FREE  5mins

 

Colour to Sepia    FREE  5 mins

 

Enlargement   FREE 10 mins

 

Quick Fix (spots, blemishes, brighten)  £5.00  20 - 30 mins

 

Scanning Paper Photographs to disc from   £5.00  6 min per paper photo

 

Psycho-dellic colours     £10.00

 

Photo Repair    £20.00  

 

Removing people / things / etc from images   £50.00 - £100.00

 

Adding people / things / etc to images   £90.00 - £180.00
